Cyber security for digital India is the top priority!

India is growing really fast towards a digital network, the number of connected devices is only increasing and the Internet is penetrating the remotest of areas, but are we prepared to fight this digital battle? There are big loopholes in India’s cyber security infrastructure. India seems to be ready for a digital future but it is certainly not prepared to handle the security risks.
The systems that are built around technologies with weaker protocols which are inherently more unguarded and for this the systems should be blamed. India has witnessed a 350 per cent rise in the cybercrime cases from 2011-2014.
In the past, the attacks that were conducted were from the countries like US, Turkey, China, Brazil, Pakistan, Algeria, Turkey, Europe, and the UAE. As the growth of smartphones and internet is adopted by most of the people, India has emerged as one of the most favourite countries among cybercriminals said the study.
Cyberattacks around the world are occurring at a greater frequency and intensity. Not only individuals but also businesses and governments are being targeted. The profile and motivation of cyber attackers are fast changing,”
As there is an increase in the usage of information and operational technology (OT) and consumer technology (CT) in critical infrastructure, overall the effect has increased. Although these elements have become the target of the choice for attackers since they recognize the impact of disrupting the routine way of life.
The US has been the target of this cybercrime and there has been an increase by 50 per cent, the cyber incidents against its critical infrastructure. It's not only about the businesses the government is also their target.

The pace of shift to digital payments has significantly increased with the strong move towards a cashless economy. The main factors that influenced this growth include increasing the number of mobile phone penetration, lower cost of service delivery, banks discouraging customers from visiting branches, the unorganized sector supporting digital payments and the demonetization drive. The micro factors clearly indicate a favourable environment for digital payments, which also is supported by the approach being taken by the regulator. According to KPMG challenges remain before India becomes truly digital these challenges are inclusive of wide use of feature phones, especially in rural areas, patchy digital connectivity in parts of the country, acceptance, and change in mind set lack of awareness and security in transactions. It is critical for the citizens both corporates and individuals, to be aware of cyber risks and not fall a prey to the phishing scams.

Importance of Family

A family is a unit that gives an individual an identity. It molds the individuals to become a better people

in life. A family is a system that binds everyone together through thick and thin. Thus, it completes an

individual in lot of ways. For example, its a mutual long - lasting bond that holds everyone together no

matter what.A close family is like a safe harbor, where one feels secure.  It is through a family that one

learns the values of love, trust, hope, beliefs, cultures, morals, etc. Therefore, a  strong foundation of

any individual is an outcome of a supportive  trustworthy family.

Being part of a blessed prosperous family is one of the greatest gifts that one can get in life.Usually,

people who have a weak  family base, end up in troubles and loneliness. A child who does not feel loved

or cared, always end up being  on the wrong path. Even at that point, there is no one to advise and

guide him or her. The absence of a family is like a vacuum,as there is nothing that could fill it or become

a substitute for it.

Parents always want the best for their children. They strive to help them grow and thrive. Thus, a large

part of their work is to protect their children from getting hurt because the safety of a child is a worry

that never disappears from the minds of the parents. The task of keeping a child safe is a full-time

job. But, in spite of the care and best efforts by parents and others to keep a child safe, danger

sometimes threatens. This danger may come from outside the family, as an earthquake, flood, tornado,

or school shooting, etc or it may come from within the family, like violence among the family members,

robbery, etc.

Hence, Parents should provide a protective shield in the form of love and care to their children to ensure

their safety as it will help their children to share their problems and grievances easily with them so that

it can lead to a positive outcome.Parents should always monitor and keep an eye on their children's

behavior. If they notice any kind of change in their child' s behavior and mannerisms they should

immediately take it seriously and do something about the same.

So, it is not only parents who wants to ensure their children's safety and well- being. But, everyone who

care about their loved ones want them to be safe always. They want them to be alert and stay safe in

this vast cruel world.

Life in the contemporary world is extremely hectic and full of strain. When it comes to the national capital this severity reaches an unprecedented magnitude. From working long hours to travelling large distances every day on an average. However the city is rewarding in nature as it has a high per capita income of Rs 2.41 lacks. This acts as a catalyst to a busy lifestyle. Delhiites work long hours every day so as to get that extra reward so as to fulfill their desires. Be it working hard in the heat so as to get that dream Air conditioner for their household or skipping a multiplex appointment so as to get that dream LED. Delhiites spend a lot on embellishing their homes with expensive gadgets and appliances so as to get ultimate comfort and leisure. Be it expensive carpets decorative items or furniture Delhiite’s leave no stone unturned when it comes to their houses. However when it comes to fire safety all this dedication takes a backseat as people are in their long sleep of ignorance to this issue. Delhiites don’t realize that all their efforts and their dream household can be destroyed in minutes if no attention is paid to fire safety. With around 62 fire incidents in the capital on a daily basis as per records of 2012

Its high time people realize that all their effort could be in flames and their home may be destroyed if fire safety measures are not inculcated properly. Fire safety is a cheap and effective insurance for your house and your loved ones. You never know when you can be one of those sixty-two fire instances.
So why take a chance spend a little on fire safety and add a layer of protection to your home and your life.

Respecting our Teachers

"Education is the ability to listen to almost anything without losing your temper or self confidence."

These were the words by one of the greatest scholars of philosophy and religion, Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan.

Not only was Dr. Radhakrishnan the first vice President and second President of India and a Bharat Ratna Recipient but also one of the most acclaimed teachers to have ever lived, in India.

This great mind always suggested others how in place of celebrating his birthday, he wanted 5th September to be observed as Teachers' day.
We often underestimate the underlying principle of education. Our life is immensely affected by the education that we have acquired along with the level of education our society. Education is what builds our country's economy, makes us productive, gives a sense of purpose, provides knowledge, gives us personality, sustains our living and globalizes and advances the world.

Teachers are the ones who give us the ultimate gift of education. Years of efforts are passed on to future generations. Our future, our development, everything is determined on the education of our nation. Such citizens are the heroes of our country, the ones who furnish the building blocks of our nation. We should always acknowledge the role of teachers, even when we are done with our education. Teachers deserve respect and this is the fundamental reason to celebrate 5th September as teachers' day.
So on this very special occasion, an occasion to express our gratitude to our gurus, our teachers, the ones who have given us the biggest gift- Education, we should all honor this day to appreciate and thank our teachers for having motivated us to excel and for having held our hands towards success.

Let's celebrate this day by taking a moment to appreciate those who have smilingly shaped us to the way we are today.

Women Security

Even in contemporary India, women cannot stride out of their houses at any given phase, assured of their physical and sexual safety. Everyday women in the society face added problems than men.

The fear of violence and teasing hampers a woman’s anatomy, shortens her mobility and her ability to work and participate in social activities. Even today, women cannot move out not in secluded places and even at daytime in crowded places.

Hundreds and thousands of incidents of physical / sexual abuse and culturally justified violence happens every day to women in this country.

Women today are not even safe at their homes as on many occasions distant or even close relatives are involved in their molestation and harassment. The conservative and patriarchal society has not helped matters. Crimes are even on the rise even against girls.

The poor state of women security is earning a bad name for the nation overseas . However certain small yet significant steps can go a long way in bringing about a considerable change in the situation. Spreading awareness among women about their rights and how to manage a crisis situation effectively and efficiently is the key.

Women-Safety-Apps.jpg (315×236)

A number of apps such as Delhi Police’s Himmat app and pepper spray along with self defense training are enough to manage such situations. However having surveillance in public places and in secluded or lonely places can be instrumental in not just controlling such threats but also act as an evidence against the offender and would come in handy in his identification and in imposing punishment . Thus they can act both as preserver as well as a destroyer. It is high time we stop talking and start acting on this issue .
